Poetry for Everyone: A PlayShop

Poetry is a form of writing that’s accessible to everyone. It’s a way of capturing your unique viewpoint and sharing a taste of it through words.  In this fun playshop, we’ll use collaborative games to access your creativity and imagination. Once the creative juices are flowing, you’ll be guided to craft a poem that reflects a moment from your daily life. Please bring a journal or notebook and pen, and your willingness to play with words on paper. In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn techniques to activate their creativity and will come away with a new poem.

Nikki Starcat Shields is an author, book midwife, and leader of transformational writing retreats. She's also a licensed Pagan priestess, practical mystic, and fae scholar of the mysteries. Nikki has had six non-fiction books published so far and is currently writing a contemporary fantasy series. She loves to share her discoveries about spirituality and creativity. Nikki teaches people to be Thriving Artists, writing their heartfelt books while also nurturing themselves and their creative lives. She is a Reflector in Human Design, so holding sacred space for transformation is a key part of her life purpose. She lives in southern Maine and adores reading, cats, and spending time by the ocean.
